SHOT Show 2012 – Day 1

by Erich

This year I had the opportunity to attend the SHOT show. For those unfamiliar with it, SHOT (The Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade Show) is the largest and most comprehensive trade show for all professionals involved with the shooting sports, hunting and law enforcement industries. It is the world’s premier exposition of combined firearms, ammunition, law enforcement, cutlery, outdoor apparel, optics and related products and services. At SHOT you’ll see latest upcoming gear, weapons and technology in the industry. It’s a lot of fun.

I’ll be in Vegas for two of the three days of the event, taking some pics, seeing some of my old buddies at SHOT and basically enjoying my time off.

Here are a few pics of today’s event. Most of my time was spent in the Law Enforcement/Military/Tactical sections. Tomorrow I’ll be spending most of my time in the outdoors section.

SHOT Show 2012 – Day 1

Here’s a few pics of what the event looks like from up high (and this is just one room):

Pics from the booths

Tactical Solutions 22 conversion kits for the Glock and 1911s. I’ll be doing an upcoming review on these (they offered to send me some to try out). I have the Advantage Arms conversion kit for my Glock and am not too pleased. I’d like to see how these fare in comparison.

They’ve also got some conversion kits for the ARs.

This solar LED light was pretty bright. Stay tuned for an upcoming review on this…

Snugpack has some awesome gear (of course this pic isn’t a good representation, sorry).

Sig Sauer’s new p224. It seems pretty sweet and has great action (not that I’d expect anything different from Sig).

Another one

One of the new p238s.

Some tricked-out sweetness from Mission First Tactical

Barrett’s new M107A1.

Loksak bags. These things are pretty sweet. They also have an RF protection bag (kind of like a mini Faraday cage). I’ll be testing that out soon.

Les Baer has some of the nicest custom 1911s I’ve seen.

KWA’s (airsoft) new Professional Series line of Airsoft rifles. These things are excellent if you want a realistic trainer for your AR (see my previous article on firearms training on a budget).

The Super V System. The secret behind KRISSs recoil and muzzle rise reduction.

Todd Jarrett giving a great presentation on shooting technique.

Some HK goodness.

Some more HK goodness.

Fobus has some great holsters.

Bill Rogers of Rogers Shooting School fame. He’s got an excellent school. Highly recommended.

Some of Bianchi’s (Safariland) new concealed holsters. I’m looking forward to trying some of these out.

Here’s a small taste of tomorrow. Some excellent crossbows by Barnett. I’ll be hanging out in the outdoor section most of tomorrow.
